Operations Christmas Child 2023

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse that collects shoebox gifts filled with all kinds of items like school supplies, hygiene items, and toys and delivers them to children in need worldwide. Canyon Springs Church will partner with Family Life Church (FLC) to participate in this amazing Christmas Event! Family Life Church has participated in Operation Christmas Child for several years and will take the lead in promoting this at church. We can donate a shoebox gift!

HOW TO PACK A SHOEBOX 

• Find an average size empty shoebox. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately. (Please note – you are not required to wrap the shoebox.)
• Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.
• Grab a girl/boy/age range tag for each gift. These can be found at the Connect Table.
• Select a medium to large “wow” item, such as a deflated soccer ball with a pump or stuffed animal, then fill it with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies.

Please DO NOT include these items:
Candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.

Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. You can also include a personal note and photo. The shoebox collection for Canyon Springs will be on November 19th at both services!

Family Life Church Schedule

Family Life will kick off the celebration of Operations Christmas Child this Sunday, October 22nd!

• Bake Sale at both of our services. All proceeds go to cover the $10 per box shipping fee. Come hungry!
• Marlene Brown from FLC will spend a few minutes on the stage speaking about the Operation Christmas Child event.

November 19th, 2023

• OCC Shoebox collection for Canyon Springs – packed boxes are collected and prayed over.
