Join Us At The San Diego Food Bank!

Canyon Springs is excited to partner with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. The San Diego Food Bank relies on individuals and volunteer groups to help in their warehouse, food distribution sites and at Food Bank events. It is only through volunteers, that they are able to fight hunger in our community!

We have the opportunity to work at their Food Bank Warehouse. If you are interested in joining us, PLEASE carefully read through the registration instructions!

Event Details

  • Date of Event:  Tuesday, September 29th
  • Time of Event: 6:00 – 8:00pm
  • Location: San Diego Food Bank Warehouse (9850 Distribution Ave, SD, CA 92121)
  • Available Space: Limited space available to participate in this event. (Please note: We will schedule future opportunities to volunteer with SD Food Bank.)
  • Deadline to register: Open now and closes on September 22nd.
  • Online Registration Instructions: There are two steps to sign up for your shift on this event. Please read & follow the step-by-step instructions when creating your account with San Diego Food Bank for our event.
  • Registration Requirement: Each volunteer must create their own account with the SD Food Bank. This includes, children, friends, family members, etc.)
  • Canyon Springs Notification: Please notify Jilane Hawkins after your register for this event at the San Diego Food Bank. Email Jilane at [email protected]

Registration Steps:

Volunteers who are new to Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank:

1.        Visit http://sdfb.volunteerhub.com/account/signin and click “create an account”
2.        Create a user name and password, click next
3.        Enter join code “caspchu” (join code is case sensitive), click next
4.        Fill out account information and click “next”.
5.        Scroll to the event date 9/29 and register for MIRAMAR Warehouse Volunteer Evening Shift 6-8pm by clicking on the greensign up” icon.


Volunteers with existing SDFB accounts, but new to your group:

1.        Visit http://sdfb.volunteerhub.com/account/signin and sign in to your account
2.        Click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen, & click “enter join code”
3.        Enter join code “caspchu” (join code is case sensitive) .
4.        Click “join”, then click “events” at the top of the screen
5.        Scroll to the event date 9/29 and register for MIRAMAR Warehouse Volunteer Evening Shift 6-8pm by clicking on the green “sign up” icon.

Important Information For All Volunteers:

  • All volunteers must wear face coverings and practice physical distancing.
  • All volunteers must wear closed toed shoes.
  • Volunteers should plan on arriving 15 minutes early for our shift. Late arrivals will not be permitted to volunteer.
  • Volunteers must be 11 years old or older. Volunteers ages 11-15 must be accompanied by an adult. We require a ratio of 1 adult for every 4 children.
