In mid-February, we took 44 middle school students and 12 leaders up to Forest Home in the local mountains of Southern California for our annual Winter Camp. It was an amazing weekend filled with fun, meaningful connections, and time set aside to experience God.
There was plenty of fun – zip lines, ropes course, games, and just hanging out. And then there was the snow which doesn’t always happen at Forest Home which quickly led into sledding and snowball fights.

A few “Firsts”
A handful of students were at their first overnight camp, which was awesome! And another one of our campers took his first communion. Worship proved to be one of the more enjoyable activities, and students also valued the many “small group” times where they could hang out and discuss important topics amongst their peers and leaders.

Thank You Leaders
With recent changes in our youth pastoral leadership, this trip was entirely volunteer-led by both adult and student leaders. This included several older adults who brought a lot of experience and consistency. Thank you to all of the leaders who poured into this weekend.

Relationship, Fun and God
Overall, it was an incredible trip. Students and leaders had fun, built relationships, and had space to connect with God – exactly what we hope for every time.

Next Steps?
If your student isn’t already connected, we’d love to have them join us at our midweek youth gatherings. It’s a great way to stay plugged in, build friendships, and continue growing in faith. And looking ahead, we’ll be heading back to Forest Home for Summer Camp in mid-July – so start making plans now. You won’t want to miss it.
