Happening This Week: GAG Night!
This week’s OASIS High School event is GAG night! What’s a GAG night? Glad you asked! It’s a longstanding OASIS acronym short for: Girls and God/Guys and God, and it means that small groups are planning individual events this week. After last week’s great start with Comeback, we wanted to help small groups get re-acquainted and back in action. By now your son or daughter should have heard from their small group leader what their plan is. If they haven’t, don’t be afraid to email me to ask. I’ll help you get connected to them and get you everything you need to know.
Info Sign Up Form
Speaking of being in contact, we recognize that communication is definitely a bigger challenge in this season. It’s why at OASIS Comeback we launched an info form we’re asking every student to fill out. This ensures that we have current and accurate information as we begin rebuilding OASIS, and it gives your son or daughter the chance to sign up to be in a small group, if they aren’t already in one. Know that we’ll only use this information to keep students up-to-date and keep small groups organized, and we will always responsibly protect your private data.
Freshmen Small Groups
Also, we announced at Comeback who our freshmen small group leaders are! For our guys, the one and only Josh Gorham will be taking the reins. He’s an incredibly godly and wise man with tons of experience leading high school small groups. And for our girls, we welcome Donna Skiles to the Oasis High School team! If you don’t yet know Donna, you couldn’t ask for a sweeter, more engaging woman to be stepping into this role. I am so excited to have each of them on our team.
If your freshmen son or daughter hasn’t yet heard from their leader, that’s on me. I’ve done my best to collect contact information for our new freshmen, but I may have missed a few. Please email me and let me know so I can get you in touch with Josh/Donna, as well as have your student fill out our info form, and we’ll get them connected ASAP.
Coming Soon in OASIS
We’re working hard to build a sustainable and flexible schedule that will enable students to meet regularly in-person. While we haven’t finalized all the details yet, expect to see periodic large group gatherings similar to OASIS Comeback and regular small group nights. As we plan events, know we will always keep safety in the forefront, and we will also be sensitive to high risk students and families. Therefore, expect to see some hybrid options in the not-to-distant future to help students participate who can’t gather in-person.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out!
