Our New High School Pastor

Hey everyone! My name is Sekwohn Grondin and I am so overjoyed to be the new HS pastor for Oasis at Canyon Springs! This is a pretty surreal moment for me as I actually grew up in Scripps, went to Oasis my junior and senior year of high school, and graduated from Scripps Ranch High in 2013. The fact that the Lord would lead me full circle and go from a student of Oasis to leading the charge and running Oasis is an honor and a privilege.

I have spent the last 6 years working as a youth pastor (2 years in Laguna Hills 4 years in Fullerton) while I was attending Biola for my undergrad studies. I graduated there in 2017 and am currently working on my masters in pastoral care and counseling. I believe in our day an age where students have been subject to isolation, there is a deep need for students to be in healthy and fun church community and I hope to combine my pastoral care and ministry experience to provide that community weekly for your students. I know that God has great plans for this next generation, and rather than seeing them as incapable or annoying as society often sees them, God looks at them as beloved children who He has called the church to guide, teach, and love, through their doubts, fears, hopes, and dreams.

Oasis has always been a special place to me as I feel that the Lord really used Canyon Springs to show me my passion for ministry, the different gifts and talents that he put in me, and the opportunity to make my faith my own. This is my hope for your student as well; that Oasis would be a place where they can belong, be known, find faith in the Lord, and follow Him all the days of their lives. I am all moved into Scripps with my wife and we would be love to meet as many of you on a Sunday or for lunch or dinner. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for anything.
