Last night was STARBURST NIGHT! For every verse or section that the Clubbers memorized, they received a starburst. You’ll be happy to know, though, that we capped it off at 5 candies! :) Amazing what a great motivator it is though!
During Counsel Time, we talked about PROMISES. Everyone claimed that they’ve made a promise to someone before – and we even all admitted that (intentionally or not) we’ve broken a promise to someone before?! But there’s one person that we know for sure will never break their promise – and that’s God! When we read a promise in the Bible, we KNOW that it’s true.
I shared the story of my favorite promise in the Bible, from Genesis 9. Noah and his family lived during a time when there was so much wickedness and sin; God gave them many warnings to repent and behave better, but nothing changed. God told Noah to build an ark (a REALLY big boat!); this was God’s way of blessing Noah and his family for being obedient. God sent a flood that covered the whole earth and destroyed everyone and everything. Noah, his family and the animals were in the ark for 40 days and 40 nights! After the flood was over, God sent a sign as a promise to Noah (and all of us) that He would never flood the earth like that again. What was that sign? A RAINBOW! We made our own rainbow with construction paper; it was beautiful! We encouraged the Clubbers – the next time they see a rainbow – to share with their friends what that means. This would be a great way to tell their friend about God!
The Clubbers had SO much fun at game time with Mr. John and Mr. Ryan! The rain started coming down during the Kindergarten and 1st graders game time – but they were tough; they stayed out there the whole time!
Congrats to the GREEN team – our big winners last night with over 3,000 points!
Next week is INSIDE OUT/BACKWARDS NIGHT. The Clubbers can dress accordingly!
Thank you for sharing your children with us – we love spending Wednesday nights with them!
Have a great week!
