Year End 2023

I am grateful to be your pastor. One of my favorite moments is simply sitting in my new office, sipping coffee, crafting meaningful messages (or attempting to!) However, one day, while enjoying my little haven, I received an unexpected knock on the door. It was a dear friend from Canyon Springs. I wondered why he had come. Did he have [...]

New Building! What to Expect and Know Before You Go

It’s here! After 25+ years of desiring a permanent location, we finally have one! After no less than a half-dozen serious attempts at getting into our own space, we're blessed to have a new place called Home! No more “setup/teardown” church every week in a school, park, or wherever God took us over the last two and a half decades. [...]

A Fond Farewell

A Fond Farewell At Canyon Springs Our church has been in a series called “Get out of the boat,” detailing the faith Peter took when he stepped out of the boat to walk on water toward Jesus. From the beginning, this church has given my family great opportunities to step out of the boat. I will never forget the steps [...]

Picnic at the Park Recap 2021

We Had A Blast at the Park! This past Sunday, about 165 of us gathered for our Picnic at the Park! We had a meal of tacos, rice, beans, chips, and salsa, followed by desserts of cotton candy and snow cones! It felt great to visit with each other, greet and reconnect with families we have missed, and play games! [...]

We played games, including “Kapow the Villain,” where two of our [...]

Local Serving Opportunities!

Serving Our Local Communities When you volunteer locally, you get to interact with your entire community of people. People in our local communities will usually have vastly different stories and backgrounds. We receive a gift when we expand our world even 20 miles and receive the blessing of serving Him by serving others. You do not need to go across [...]

Christmas in Mexico – 2020

Christmas in Mexico looked a little different this year amid Covid-19; however, we were blessed by God's faithfulness and filled with joy as we celebrated Him! "There are more children here than we thought would come," the pastor and his wife shared with me as children were decorating sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles. My stomach sank. What if we [...]

Tacos & Dogs Annual Picnic 2019 Recap

A few hundred families and friends of Canyon Springs descended on Scripps Ranch Community Park for an evening of fellowship, food and fun! At $5 all-u-can-eat, it was a great deal too.
