We began Club 45 with “Club Time”.  We had basketball going outside and lots of boards games, puzzles and snacks happening inside!

Our mixer was brought to us by our resident “MixMaster”, Ms. Noreen! We played “Name that Book”. The kids sat in a circle and had to name a book of the Bible within 3 seconds or they were out. Boy, do these kids know their books of the Bible! We ended the game with Ellery Archer reciting all 66 books of the Bible!! Amazing!

During Club Teaching Time, we started by going over the Club Rules and the Club Verse (Psalm 1:1-3), as always. Since we’ve completed our lessons on each of the Ten Commandments, we focused on reviewing all of them. To do this, we had the kids divide into groups of 3-4. Each group had 5 minutes to come up with a 30-second to 1-minute skit acting out one of the commandments. The rest of the group then had to guess which commandment it was – both name and number! They did a great job!

During Small Group time, the kids looked up several verses to remember why God gave us the commandments and discuss how they can remember to keep/obey God’s commandments all the time. They were challenged to identify one particular commandment that they want to work on “keeping” this week.

During Closing Time, Ms. Betsy demonstrated “Sin In, Sin Gone”. She had a styrofoam cup with a red heart on it, that represented us (sinners). She poured water (representing our sin) into the cup.  She talked about how Jesus died to take away our sin and when we ask Him for forgiveness, our sin is gone. To illustrate, she drew a cross in the red heart on the cup. When she turned the cup upside down, the water was gone (just like our sin)! Ask your child how in the world Ms. Betsy did this?! :)

Our challenge verse is our Club 45 Theme Verse: Psalms 1:1-3 (It’s on the first page of their workbooks.)  If this is memorized there will be a one time reward for all who take this on. CONGRATULATIONS TO NATHAN BOTTOMLEY; HE MEMORIZED THE VERSE THIS WEEK!

Each week your child should come with their workbooks and their Bibles.  If they don’t have a Bible, we have lots to share!

We have TWO more weeks of Club 45! Hard to believe it’s winding down…

Enjoy your week!
