Well, we completed the second day of our Space Shuttle Mission! Our crew (made up of Pilots, Flight Engineers and Astronauts) is amazing; they have stayed focused on their mission and been able to SEARCH THE VISIBLE AND DISCOVER THE INVISIBLE every day! Not only that, but they were beautifully decked out for Super Color Spirit Day; it was awesome!
We learned today that our messages for the week are focused on our relationship with God and his Son, Jesus. On Day 1, we learned how The Relationship Began, with creation and Adam & Eve. Today we learned how The Relationship (got) Broken when Adam & Eve chose to eat the “forbidden fruit” and sin was introduced. Our song for today summed it up… “Sin Messed Everything Up” – and that sneaky serpent was a big part of it. Boo! Our storytellers promised us that we get to find out tomorrow how the relationship will be fixed!
Our kids were very busy at all the rotations today! Did you see the night light that your child created? How cool was that?! At rec, the groups had fun with wet sponges; not only was there another boy vs girl match up, but it felt really good to cool off!
Thank you to all the kids that brought money today for the kids in Tijuana! Ms. Pam was quite busy collecting money and distributing bracelets this morning! We were so anxious to see how many kids would get uniforms. At the end of the day, we celebrated that we had enough money for TWO kids in Tijuana to get school uniforms – so they can now go to school because of the hard-earned money brought today by our VBS kids! Please encourage your kids to do small chores/jobs around the house – or maybe you have a coin jar they can raid?!

Our memory verse for the week is:

He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see, such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.” Colossians 1:15-16
They can work on the daily verse too, which was:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
We are super excited to embark tomorrow on Day 3 of our mission aboard the Canyon Springs Space Shuttle! There is no specific theme for tomorrow; just wear your VBS t-shirts. On Thursday, it will be OUT OF THIS WORLD DAY, so start planning what you’re going to wear for that!
Also, plan to hang out on Friday for our VBS Family BBQ! We’ll have hot dogs, chips and popsicles and a bounce house-for just $5/family!
