OASIS Leader for Middle School & OASIS Worship Band

When did you start coming to Canyon Springs?

I started coming to Canyon Springs in 6th grade when one of my friends invited me to OASIS.

What made you decide to Volunteer?

I decided to first play in our OASIS Worship band because playing music was something that I loved doing and I wanted to combine that with my love for God. I was at a point in my faith where I was solid and I needed to take the next step to show God that I was truly devoted to him. I then decided to become a Middle School Leader because I knew the kind of impact leaders can have on kids because my leaders had a huge impact on my faith. I wanted to help others live out their faith and I knew how hard it was to be a Christian in Middle School. Becoming a Middle School Leader was the obvious next step for me in my faith.

What is your favorite part about Volunteering?

Volunteering, especially in Church, makes me feel like I can have an impact on other people’s lives. In OASIS Worship band, I can help others connect with God through music. As a leader, I can help my group truly understand who Jesus is and I can be there for them through their struggles. My favorite part is knowing that I played a part in other people’s faith which will impact their lives because they become closer to Jesus.
