We are over the hump – and we could feel the energy today! Day 4 just might have been the best day so far! It was UNDERWATER DAY – and boy, did we have a host of sea creatures join us on the USS Submerged?! We had mermaids, sharks, a dolphin, squid, crabs, divers, an aquarium, a “school” of fish – even Nemo and Marlin were there!

Our morning activities continued to reinforce our motto for the week:

JESUS SEES. JESUS KNOWS. JESUS SAVES!

CRAFT–The Bubbleheads made boats with compasses. Very cool!

REC–There was a relay race with sponges and a slip & slide; what a great way to cool off during the day!

MISSIONS–After a game of freeze tag, the kids got to hear about lots of different ways to share about Jesus.

MUSIC–We learned ANOTHER song – “Bubblin’ Up”. After listening to the CD all week, I’m sure your kids know all the words already! It was fun because, during this song, each age group had their own special part. Ask your child to tell you about it!

STORY–Our story today was about a blind man. Jesus and His disciples walked passed a man who had been blind since birth. His disciples asked Jesus who had sinned – the man or his parents – to cause him to be blind. Jesus explained that no one had sinned but this happened so that God’s work would be displayed through him. Jesus spit on the ground and made mud. He rubbed mud on the man’s eyes and told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. The man was healed! His neighbors were astonished. The Pharisees found out and didn’t believe him when he said that it was Jesus that had healed him; they threw him out of the synagogue. Jesus found the blind man and asked him if he still believed; the man said, “Yes, I believe!” This story reflects our message for today: JESUS KNOWS MY PURPOSE. Sometimes we don’t understand why certain events or circumstances happen in our life, but we can trust that Jesus knows us and has a purpose for everything in our life.

At the end of the day, Ms. Jilane from the Mission Train came up to tell us how many more uniforms we were able to provide for the kids in Tijuana. As of yesterday, we had 5. Today we added 7 more!!! That’s amazing! That means 12 kids can now go to school because of your kids generosity!

DON’T FORGET…VBS MEXICO IS SATURDAY!

Lastly, make sure your kids are practicing their memory verses!

Our weekly verse is:

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me. Lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24

The bonus verse for today was:

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose..”

Philippians 2:13

Tomorrow is our last day aboard the USS Submerged! You don’t want to miss it!
