This week was Pastor Night, which means we had a special guest speaker (I wonder who it was?!). Stay tuned..

Game time, as always, was super fun! We even had to close the door because the teams were screaming so loud! Mr. John created a Halloween flavor by adding pumpkins to the game mix!

During Counsel Time, Ms. Betsy introduced the pet of the week: SNAKE! Probably not a favorite pet of all, but it is the pet of one of our very own clubbers – Chase Demarest. Chase brought his pet snake, Sylvester, to AWANA last night and all the clubbers got a chance to pet him.

Our special guest speaker for the night was… Pastor Jack! He talked to the clubbers about snakes and how they are crafty animals. It was the serpent that deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden to disobey God. In our lives, there are “deceivers” that can tempt us to make bad choices. Pastor Jack warned the clubbers to be aware of these “crafty” voices: friends saying that it’s okay to not tell the truth or be mean to someone or cheat on a test. Instead, we should listen to authorities in our life to know the right thing to do – God, the Bible, our parents, teachers.

We sang two songs: the AWANA song and 1 Timothy 4:12.

Congrats to the YELLOW team for being the color team winner this week!

Some of you took home a card for “Christmas in Mexico”. A group from our church will be going down to Rio Al Mar in Tijuana in December to deliver Christmas presents to the kids there. The front of your card indicates the age and gender that you are buying for and the back has detailed instructions for what to buy and how to package it. You can bring your gifts back to AWANA next week. We told the clubbers that they will receive 25 extra points for their team for each gift that they bring!

Next week is MISSIONS NIGHT! It’s international attire – we want lots of countries represented!

Have a great weekend!
