When did you start coming to Canyon Springs?

About 1999 when we were meeting at Jerabek Elementary School.

What made you decide to Volunteer?

Rob: My decision to volunteer stemmed from a desire to surround myself with better people in my life. I wasn’t sure where I would “fit in” but eventually the invitation and encouragement from Jack was offered so I saw an opening and dove in. My decision now is augmented by a desire to provide an example of servitude for my daughters with the hope they would find service a rewarding part of their lives.

Chrissy: Initially my sister-in-law Jill stroked my ego by telling me how fantastic I would be at Sunday School. Eventually I found my sweet spot leading our Club 45 Ministry.

What is your favorite part about Volunteering?

Rob: The most rewarding part for me is twofold: 1.) Sitting in the front row and being able to see God at work. 2.) The relationships I’ve been able to forge transcend the actual service and provide me “real” relationships to lean on.
Chrissy: I get to goof around with kids! Another unexpected win was getting to know my daughters’ friends on a different level before they all got to middle school.

Do you volunteer with organizations, outside of Canyon Springs

Chrissy – I teach art in my girls’ classes at Dingeman and also volunteer at a camp for siblings in the foster care system.
