Yet another great Monday night at Club 45!

After a fun time of playing games inside and outside, we gathered together for group time. We started off with a classic game of “find a shoe!” Each of the kids were asked to remove one of their shoes, put it in a pile and then make a big circle. Ms. Chrissy instructed them to charge in and grab one shoe – NOT their own. Then they had to find the person with the matching shoe and find something out about them – favorite ice cream flavor, pb&j with toasted or non-toasted bread? The only downside of this game (for the leaders, anyway) was the unfortunate smell…?! :)

In continuing our study of the Fruits of the Spirit, this week we focused on FAITHFULNESS.

Ms. Chrissy shared the story of the friendship between David and Jonathan from the book of 1 Samuel. They were an unlikely pair – Jonathan, the son of King Saul, and David, a shepherd boy and youngest of eight boys. David had defeated Goliath and his bravery was impressive to Jonathan; they became fast friends. King Saul, though, started getting jealous of Jonathan’s loyalty to David so he decided he needed to “eliminate” him. Jonathan, being the faithful friend, helped David concoct a plan to escape Saul’s threat and save his life. Ms. Chrissy encouraged the kids to read 1 Samuel 17 as it is a story packed with lots of action and adventure!

In our small groups, we discussed the memory verse (Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3) and played a faithfulness game that brought up different situations of how to be a faithful person and friend.

Thank you for sharing your kids with us on Monday nights and for getting them there and back. We love our time with them!!

See you next Monday,
