Its official! Camp Season is over and many students had life-changing encounters with God that will impact their faith for the rest of their lives.
Camp isn’t always glamorous. It usually happens in the great outdoors without indoor bathrooms, sunburns, bugs, and many less-than-ideal circumstances. But, it’s always worth it. God is always faithful to reveal Himself in the hearts and lives of the students and volunteers that attend.
This year we took 103 High School students to Lake Mead for Houseboats. The students got to enjoy water sports, games, spending time with their peers, and many other awesome activities. They also had the opportunity to gather at chapel service every night where they experienced powerful worship and a message. Five students made a first-time decision to follow Jesus and many more made commitments to grow in their faith in various ways. One of these students, Luke Smart shared on Sunday how he initially went to Houseboats to hang out with friends and have some fun on the water. However, God captured his heart and accepted The Lord for the first time. During our baptisms this past Sunday, Luke also spontaneously decided to make a declaration of his faith by being baptized. His story is just one of many students on this trip.
To God be the glory!
