Day 1 of VBS with our Canyon Springs Bugs was a BLAST! 🐞✨

Our amazing team of adult and youth leaders – truly the cream of the crop – made sure our campers had an unforgettable first day!
This morning, campers rotated through four exciting adventures: Crafts, Snack/Rec, Music, and Story—all designed to point back to our mission for the week:

We are made to MAGNIFY God. 🔍✨

Today’s Bible story came from John 1:1-3,12 and Mark 10:13-16, where we saw the heart of Jesus for children. One day, people brought their children to Jesus to ask Him to bless them. Jesus’ helpers tried to stop the parents. Jesus got very angry with His disciples and told them to let the children come. Jesus took the children in His arms and blessed them.

Even when others tried to turn them away, Jesus welcomed the children with open arms and blessed them. 💛

The lesson reflects today’s message:

I am important to God and God sees me.

This week at VBS, our Canyon Springs BUGS are putting their faith into action! 🐞💛

In the spirit of following God’s plan, we’re partnering with Visión de Dios in Tijuana, Mexico to support their Apoyo Para Estudiantes initiative.
While school in Mexico is technically free, many families struggle to afford the extra costs – uniforms, supplies, and transportation – that come with getting their kids to the classroom. That’s where we come in!

Our campers are raising funds to help provide essential school supplies for students in Tijuana. The money raised will go directly to VisiĂłn de Dios, who will purchase and distribute what the kids need most.

💥 And of course… it’s BOYS vs. GIRLS in a friendly competition to see who can raise the most!

Each day, we’ll tally the donations and announce how many school supply kits we’ve provided – thanks to your campers’ generosity.

VBS Mexico

Your children also have the opportunity to participate in our one day, family friendly mission trip to Mexico. It will take place on Saturday, June 21st. If you and your child would like to attend, you can sign up and get all the detailed information HERE.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 17th is BUG OUT day at VBS

We will celebrate nature and outdoors: think bumble bee, butterfly, entomologist flowers, spiders, trees, etc. Get creative and HAVE FUN! (Campers do not have to wear their VBS t-shirt on this day, but attire needs to remain appropriate). Please also refrain from bringing any large “props” as it will be challenging for children to rotate between stations with these items.
