Rob Merkin

Rob Merkin has been blessed to be married to his wife, Kathleen, for 36 wonderful years. Together, they are proud parents to three children—two daughters and a son—and they cherish their time with their two grandsons. Kathleen is also an active member of their church community, participating in various activities, including Vacation Bible School (VBS).

Rob has spent nearly his entire life in San Diego and has been a member of Canyon Springs Church (CSC) for over 15 years. During this time, he played a significant role in the church facility search process, which ultimately led CSC to its current church home. His professional journey spans 38 years in commercial real estate, where he has gained extensive experience that he brings to his church involvement.

For the past 25 years, Rob has participated in office Bible studies, which continue to thrive today. He is also engaged in several Bible study groups, and for four years, he and Kathleen hosted Baylor Parents in Prayer at their home, fostering a spirit of prayer and community among parents.

Rob believes in a loving and merciful God who calls us to live out our faith through service, community, and compassion. His sanctification journey with Christ has taught him the importance of fellowship, the power of prayer, and the transformative nature of God’s love. As a member of Canyon Springs Church, he is committed to nurturing his faith and supporting others as they grow in their relationship with God. His life verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – “Be joyful always, pray constantly and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
