Hard to believe our VBS Wilderness Adventure is over half way complete! Boy, have we had fun!! Historically, “hump day” at VBS is kind of low energy – not today! The kids were full of cheer and energy- especially with those In The Wild Animal “calls.” The kids worked hard at memorizing their daily and weekly memory verses and we had some great “ca-cawww” celebrations!

They were, once again, very busy at all the rotations today! In craft, they made some awesome bird feeders with Cheerios. I hope you all have lots of bird visitors at in your backyard this week. We went down to the river to learn a new song today, “What God Has Done.”  It was complete with the all-time favorite dance move from Fort Nite “Best Mates,” as well the robot, and some disco fever. Be sure to play the CD at home so your child can practice all the moves (and maybe teach you a few!)

In our story today we encountered Jesus ON THE WATER. After a long day teaching near the Sea of Galilee, Jesus sent the disciples ahead of Him in a boat. Late at night there was a storm and the waves beat against the boat. The disciples saw Jesus walking to them on top of the water, and they were frightened. After Jesus identified Himself, Peter asked to come to Him on the water. Jesus said, “Come.” As Peter walked to Jesus, he became afraid and began to sink. Peter called out for Jesus to save him. Jesus reached out, caught hold of Peter, and got back in the boat with him. The wind immediately stopped, and the disciples proclaimed that Jesus really is the Son of God!

We had many kids bring money today for the kids in Tijuana! We were able to celebrate that THREE more kids in Tijuana get school uniforms! Rangers Jobie and Lesley challenged the trekkers to do whatever they can to earn money at home so we can continue to provide more uniforms to these kids in need.
