BIG NEWS: OASIS is Moving to The Cove This Wednesday!

This week, contrary to our previous announcement, OASIS is NOT in the Park! Our location and time is changing, and we’re moving to The Cove at 7:30 pm this Wednesday! We’ll be outside for the entirety of the night, so students should still dress appropriately for the weather. But as we’ve been working on rebuilding OASIS, we decided it was time to come home!

What To Expect

First, expect to have fun! We know that students need an escape and a place to belong now more than ever. We want to create an environment that invites them to laugh and be present with others in a way they haven’t been able to in a long time.

Expect to reconnect to God. Let’s be honest: I know I’ve struggled to maintain my routines since all this started, and I know it’s been especially challenging for students with so much disruption. That’s why it’s so important to help your students re-establish a faith rhythm of gathering with others who are seeking to connect to God. I know that school and sports are demanding, but helping your kids grow in their faith can make a huge impact on their overall mental health and wellbeing, and that will carry them far past their academic and athletic endeavors.

Expect to find authentic conversations and community. Every high school student has a place to belong here at OASIS. They don’t need to believe what we believe or think the way we think. We just want to show them God’s love and help them discover all he has for them as we discuss openly what God’s Word says and what that means for them today.

So what are you waiting for? Get your kids signed up now!

November Schedule Update

Then on November 11, we’re back with our small groups meeting in various times and locations. Small group leaders will let you or your child know where their group is meeting. If you aren’t sure and need information, or if your student isn’t yet in a small group, don’t hesitate to reach out, and I’d be happy to help.

November 18, we’re back at the Cove for another large group midweek in November! More details on that soon.

There will not be any OASIS activities on November 25 because of Thanksgiving.

New Release Form

Finally, you may have seen this if you signed your student up for the Amazing Race. But if you didn’t, please help us by filling out our new annual release form. This form will apply to all activities and events during this school year and includes things like emergency contacts, important medical information, and photo authorization. Once you’ve filled it out, your student is covered for the academic year. Even if it’s attached to future event registrations, you don’t need to fill it out more than once. It’s a small change, but we hope it’s one way to save you some time and paperwork.

Until next time, thanks for all your support!

Sincerely,

Luke Angus
High School Pastor
